SirJeivus visits Taipei, Taiwan

Post  SirJeivus on Wed Jun 27, 2012 4:05 pm

Hi everyone,

It is no secret now that I plan to visit Taiwan. I've done my research, and my father helped me contact some people from Keystone Travel agency to arrange flight and accomodations. Some things that I've learned that the slow season (and therefore the cheapest) is after September/October. My dad travels a lot, and he suggested October, so I reserved a flight from October 2 to October 10, Taiwan time.

My plane ticket can be found here: http://minodistrict.canadian-forum.com/t140-sirjeivus-s-plane-ticket#711
My Hotel (Finalized) can be found here: http://minodistrict.canadian-forum.com/t145-finalized-taipei-accomodations

However, my only concern right now is deciding between taking a tour or staying in Taipei to meet with friends, the TB club, as we as the people who have been supporting me for over 1.5 years. In 2011, over 90% of my Facebook subscribers were Taiwanese and I feel visiting would be fun. I'd definetly like to meet the people in Taiwan and embrace the culture there.

If I pick the tour, I would be moving out and about a lot. However, from the people that I've spoken to on FB (particularly past TBO champions) that October is when they return to school and they would not have much time to hang out (which is totally understandable). If no one's available, I don't want to just sit in the hotel (that would be boring!)

Right now, I'm looking for how available the TB Taiwanese community is from October 2 to October 10 and any people who can show me around. People who can both speak English and Mandarin is a plus, because my poor Chinese may not be enough to survive down there. (Although Alexsweden tells me he navigated fine down there.)

Paul, if you could translate this and forward it to TB Club, Big TB Club, New Tetris Battle Research Centre and other clubs that would be great.

In the meantime, I'm only going to host a second TBTW, and then the final 16 will duel it out for trophies. I will collect names of the top 3 winners and go to "Richmond Recognition" to get solid metal trophies for the top 3 winners. I plan to have all this done by September.

Thanks,
Jason

This is a Chinese summary
