3wide/4wide vs FST
What are the advantages and disadvantages of each, if each is played at the same speed?

Re: 3wide/4wide vs FST
I guess I'll go first.
3w is very safe, and 10-11 combos are considered good for 3wide. They're a good balance between attack and safety.
4w has the most offensive power. There are two types of 4widing: Traditional and middle gap:
Traditional 4wide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iifP8023oLw
Centre-gap 4wide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piG0tliyw2s
Centre-gap is safer because tetriminoes spawn in the middle of the field, so you do not get KO'd if your stack is too high. However, it is harder to stack. Side stacking is easier but you can be KO'd easily if you're not careful. 4-wide requires the knowledge of all spins and really good stacking for it to be pulled off.
Freestyle is not easy to categories because it is not just a playstyle, it is a philosophy. Good freestylists have the following characteristics, though:
Other characteristics of good players include:
-being able to make use of all previews available
-looking at the opponent's screen to gauge the situation
-maintaining a good APM/LPM ratio
-effective timing and cancelling
Often, these characteristics are built into freestyle players. 3wide and 4wide are definitely very powerful, especially in TB where 1 combos add, but personally I crush many combo players because of their inability to add lots of lines mid-game and punish their inability to downstack. Many comboers just add a lot during the initial attack, and build up again. If you are able to refute their attacks, the comboer does not really stand a chance.
I'm not 100% anti-combo. Combos are part of the game. I feel, personally, that a combo should be stacked for mid-game rather at the start, because 2T methods such as a DT cannon, TD, or 6-3 quick b2b's can punish a comboer very easily.
